About GWVP
The Ghana Waste-to-Value Project is SideHustle Africa’s recycling initiative, focused on PET collection, sorting and aggregation in Greater Accra.
Our immediate work
We connect bottle-generating sites, collectors and aggregators with a local industrial recycling supply chain. The work starts with recurring sources, practical storage, reliable collection and material quality.
Our near-term focus is strengthening Greater Accra operations. We remain open to Ghanaian and international relationships that add useful equipment, expertise or future commercial options.
Infrastructure that makes recovery repeatable
Suitable collection vehicles and consolidated loads can reduce dependence on expensive ad hoc haulage. Route density and cost per accepted kilogram guide expansion.
Separate receiving, weighing, sorting and storage areas keep material traceable. Contained glass and residuals, covered stock and wash-water control are part of the planned operating layout.
Our planned baling capacity will compact bulky bottles for storage and onward transport, while meeting agreed buyer specifications.
Our minimum operating target is 50 metric tonnes of accepted PET per month. This is a growth target, not a statement of current throughput. We are building recurring supply and the capacity to serve it in Greater Accra. Kumasi is a future expansion opportunity after the Accra model is established.
